| Description Formed initially as a group of students who were passionate about music, with the passage of time it has assumed the true character of a chamber orchestra, ultimately taking on the role of Orchestra of the University of Pavia. Every year the orchestra regularly plays in Pavia, but the orchestra frequently performs further afield and can boast performances in Austria, Portugal and Great Britain as well as other Italian cities. Essentially having the nature of a chamber orchestra, the Camerata de' Bardi specialises in music of the baroque and classical period, but also performs parts of the bigger repertoire such as Mozart's Requiem and Handel's Messiah. February traditionally sees the orchestra's highly original concert for Carnevale. |
