| Description The orchestra was founded in 1978 with the object of giving concerts (semi-staging or symphonic performances) quite apart from its activities as the opera orchestra in the Vienna Volksoper. National and international successes very quickly followed. In 1978 the first concerts with Franco Bonisolli and Elizabeth Leonskaja were held. In 1979 a concert tour to Hong Kong and Singapore was the start of the orchestra's international concert activity. |
